somehow wound up on the restoration hardware mailing list and they just sent me a beautifully printed hundred-page catalog, high-res matte pages, bound with a *spine*, full of nothing but uglyyyy identical cream-colored couches and coffee tables with "raw" wood stains. ten grand apiece

With this ruling, the birthright issue is not going away. The right hasn't really begun *organizing* around getting rid of the citizenship clause. Like Roe, this will be their fight for a generation. And if the Democrats just say "we won" and ignore it, like Roe, the Republicans will eventually win.

thinking about this more... the thing is that in context I think this *could've* been effective if it was executed better. like it still would've given me a little bit heartburn but there was enough setup in place to do something interesting and more intentional. they just... didn't

I know the Platonic Always is a literary myth. but reading the phrase "animal crossing cottagecore" in any kind of semi-serious novel gives me heartburn

The place I donate blood gives points that you can exchange for gas cards which means I actually know the current exchange rate of blood for oil. Blood is going for 20.618 times an equivalent amount of oil.

forgot to say but I finished saros... it didn't hit quite the same sweet spot as returnal for me but I think that's fair/expected since returnal is one of my favorite games ever and saros was deliberately trying NOT to just be returnal 2. and I still liked it enough to 100% it lol

I've seen malcolm in the middle a million times but this is my first time watching post-deadwood, so we just saw an episode with a random one-off character where I was like "hold on, is that... [swearengen voice] fucking yankton?" (couldn't remember his name but it was the commissioner lol)

this def seems easier... instead of teleporting straight to zone 3 I re-battled the zone 1 and 2 bosses for funsies, then beat the zone 3 boss on the first try, and THEN beat the zone 4 boss first try in the same run. I would've kept going but there was a story event that summoned me back to base

I have this one houseplant (some kind of hoya I think) that's in really shitty dry crusty soil and I'm tempted to repot it but it DOES seem to be thriving so I'm like... maybe she actually likes shitty crusty soil...?

read about an aviation incident where a plane had to land without landing gear and everyone on board was completely fine but the aircraft was "destroyed." which I assume means the fuselage got ground down to a nub and then crumbled away to reveal a bunch of people standing there on the runway, dazed
