We have to be more casually vocal about hating Harry Potter. I don't know if most people know what's going on Casually going "Ugh, you know jk Rowling is like, a crazy far right bigot now right? Yeah, she went off the deep end" has gotten a lot of people to look into this in my experience

You don't need to watch this. The trailer, the show, none of it. You are not a child anymore. There are other stories. Potter may have once been a well of inspiration or joy, but that well is poisoned by the venom of its creator who sees every engagement as endorsement of her war on trans people.

I'm so sick of seeing AI disclaimers like this. The solution to not having the budget for voice acting isn't to use AI, it's to not have voice acting at all! Games don't need VO to be good! By jamming in slopvoices, you're not making your game better, you're making it worse and reprehensible!

If games use gen AI at ANY stage of development: I don’t want it, and will likely never buy from that dev/studio going forward.

I fear we’re gonna get a lot of mileage out of this Barret meme.

They can't say it out loud because the answer to how AI is making games faster/better to develop is "we don't have to pay as many wages." But Anna, "AI is just making workers more productive." So are those workers getting a raise? No. Are they continuing to staff up? No. Are the game worse? Yes.

this is like the third time a studio has pulled this excuse when including genAI and it's the third time i've had to say that this issue of genAI placeholder assets is redundant because game devs had a more intuitive solution 30 years ago

every statement about getting caught using ai is written like "we used ai and we thought it was freaking awesome. but we also didnt mean for it to actually be in the game and you caught us. oops"

I’m so tired of ‘we used it as a placeholder’ No you didn’t, placeholders are normally just blank/minimal images so they are easy to spot and replace later. You used it because you thought you’d get away with it. FUCK. OFF!
