The third update for UFO 50 on Switch is out now (v1.8.10)! This one fixes a single issue where a detached Joy-Con could register multiple inputs. But we're currently working on more bugfixes and optimizations, for a larger update in the future.

1cc completed! And only my third time reaching loop 2 on one credit. I played a few runs every day, sometimes credit feeding to practice tricky areas. 'Til the very end, the game loved to throw unexpected scenarios (and weapons) at me, so my heart was pounding when I finally defeated Lucifer! GG!

Big PB today! I made it to the second loop on one credit for the first time! Shout out to the master @aqy.bsky.social, as quite a few of his tips + tricks came in handy. Starting to learn how to beat Red Arremers. Love how they sort of organically throw a little fighting game in there. Masterpiece.

Current GnG PB is boss of Stage 4. 1cc makes me realize how great the balance is between static and random elements. It's easy to think the "bad" weapons are a waste, but it's actually more like Super Crate Box - sometimes you're forced to pick one up and make do for a while. Adds replayability.

Burst's upcoming GnG challenge is inspiring me to try and 1cc Ghouls 'n Ghosts arcade myself. The Genesis version of the game was one of my favorites and the mechanics and aesthetics have really stuck with me over the years. I'd love to get to know it better through an arcade 1cc.

Any advice Tom has on making indie games is worth listening to, but I really want to highlight his thoughts on price point - it's well explained. I do think that the movement to get indies to charge more mostly just hurt new indies - with fewer players, fewer/worse reviews, and lower sales.

For people who aren't aware of HAMSTER's Arcade Archives or EGGCONSOLE... They're porting games to Switch that previously never left the arcades or PC-88/PC-98. Some really fantastic, interesting games. Just search for "Arcade Archives" or "EGGCONSOLE" on eShop. Arcade Archives is also on PS/Xbox.

I'm starting to write more reviews of smaller titles on Steam. 1. Reviews are very helpful for developers and players alike. 2. It's a nice way to cap off a fun time with a game. So not only do I recommend Babushka's Glitch Dungeon, but I also recommend writing reviews of indie games you enjoyed!

Keep thinking about this term "pre-digested" that Kojima used to describe art that's instantly gratifying. And how it's better when people grow to love something instead. I've gravitated, as player and designer, toward the latter, but that term "pre-digested" is new and feels very strong.

More people should be excited about THE OUTFOXIES! At the very least, because it's a pre-Smash platform fighter and Dweeb the chimp is cooler than DK because he has a top hat and can use a rocket launcher. But yeah, previously arcade-only so it's great that it's finally coming to console tomorrow!

After LttP it feels like we stopped seeing illustrations like these, where the mystery and danger of the world was the focus. The artwork became much more character-driven. Seems to line up with the series' shift in design and perhaps general trends. (Unsurprisingly, I like the original games best!)

Blood is just so dang fun and memorable. The dynamite is probably my second favorite FPS weapon after Doom's super shotgun in terms of sheer satisfaction... one of those weapons that you get yourself in trouble with because you try to use it even when you have better options. 🧨
