this. flash is a multimedia program and not just an animation program. Its biggest strength was the way it could tie a whole bunch of things together and the way you could organize and structure animations for a variety of different uses, especially games

Adobe has a lot of software that's easy to replace with open-source or alternatives. However, they also have Animate. Their most unique piece of software, no other software has the same functionality. Anyway they cancelled it. It's gone. www.theverge.com/news/872731/...
