Tonight I'm trying to debug collisions. Very little progress, but I did add some better way to display the collisions meshes as that are tested by the engine. Large cities are sectorized in cells, so only a fraction of the collisions are processed around Edge. #panzerdragoonsaga #reverseengineering

Finishing up Dragon morphing tonight. Always wondered how that worked, and it's pretty simple geometry morphing. All dragons form share the same vertex count and topology. The textures are just interpolated on the CPU and updated in VDP1 memory per frame. #panzerdragoonsaga #reverseengineering

Been wiring a few more scenes in Saga decompilation. There is so much hardcoded logic in something like this. Still, I'm often impressed at the tricks they used to make this work on a Saturn. The vdp2 water distortion here works pretty well. #decomp #PanzerDragoonSaga #SegaSaturn

It took me a while getting used to how it works, but I quite like how instead of a traditional interact button, PDS has a cursor that lets you interact with anything that's near you (you can also interact with things far from you to get a less detailed comment from Edge)

I tried out the Panzer Dragoon Zwei remaster demo. It features the second stage from the game. As a longtime fan of the series, it's... hmm. Some of the negativity seems quite strong, but I can't say I'm fully meshing with it either.
