Dem bigwigs are inclined to ignore this stuff from Trump, which they correctly see as provocation slop. But this instinct to turn the other cheek has failed us again and again. It has created a norm in which he can act like this. Force Republicans to talk about it. Make it uncomfortable for them.

Democracies cannot function like this. The President is a public servant of the people, not a diety who doles out government services based on perceived personal slights.

On Jack Smith deposition, now released: 100% obvious why GOP refused to allow this as open testimony, aired live. It's damning. Testimony from John Dean or Alex ("wiretaps") Butterfield in Watergate days would have 1/10th the impact if just in print. What Smith says is far more incriminating.

It's a good commentary on 2025 that the US President announces a major military attack on a foreign country and even the straightest arrows think, 50% chance it's an attack, 50% chance president is on another cognition bender.

271,000 people have lost their jobs and federal spending has ctually increased. So people get less services, while we added debt paying for private jets for Kristi Noem, bulletproof cars for Kash Patel. This is what the rust belt voters demanded.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans. 🧵 1 of 9

Governor Bob Ferguson endorses millionaires’ tax on high earners, unveils austerity-centric supplemental operating budget
The proposed operating budget, presented ahead of the 2026 legislative session that's slated to begin on January 12th, would make $797 million in cuts, recover $391 million for the treasury through revenue shifts and closing tax preferences, use $123 million in other funds, and tap close to $1 billion from the rainy day fund.

BREAKING: I support a Millionaires’ Tax on income over $1 million a year. The fairness of our tax system ranks 50th. Let’s make this historic change this session. This is a separate proposal from the budget I announced today — revenue would not be realized until 2029.

The flooding in the Snoqualmie River Valley is absolutely jaw-dropping. Here's a bird's eye view captured yesterday by NPI's ED, who flew a drone over a section of the valley in between Carnation and Duvall. You can see the floodwaters reach across the valley almost from edge to edge!
