Casual reminder that a bill must pass *both* the House and the Senate (and get signed by POTUS) to become law. The DHS / ICE appropriations bill passed the House. It still needs to pass the Senate with 60 votes. That vote will be *NEXT WEEK* Call your Senators.🔥📞🔥

But the bigger reason that you should write and make art, is that your work is someone else's respite. You don't know who they are. They may be someone in the future. But if you have escaped into a book, or a painting, or a TV show... Someone created that. You can do that for someone else.

If you're a writer, wondering why you should bother writing with the world on fire. It feels like it's not important, I need you to understand that it is. Even if it is just because it keeps you moving forward? Even if it only brings YOU joy, that gives you energy to fight & survive.

When things feel pointless, remember the small things that make a difference in your life, then do them for yourself and others. A high protein meal. A big glass of water. Taking meds. A compliment or word of thanks. A long walk outside. I see how hard you're trying. Little things still matter.
