One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law! That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.

I don't know what will happen in NYC tonight, but I do know that regardless of outcome, any number of public figures, celebrities, politicians and institutions that oppose Mamdani have done so with a level of rhetorical ugliness, racism, and dishonesty that should neither be forgotten nor forgiven.

1. No ID required in New York unless it's your first time voting. 2. New York has fusion voting which allows candidates to be nominated by multiple parties 3. Adams dropped out after the deadline to remove your name passed 4. Cuomo lost the Democratic primary, so he's running on a third party line

We gathered at the steps of New York City Hall to demand that Gov. Hochul fund SNAP benefits for the 3 million New Yorkers who rely on them. âWe urge her to use State funds to pay for all or some of November SNAP benefits, just as multiple other states have already done.â

Great question, Rand Paul! For starters: 1. Wages that have not kept up with inflation 2. Lack of affordable child care for working parents 3. Exploding healthcare & housing costs 4. 30% increase in grocery prices in the past 5 years 5. A global pandemic that people are still recovering from

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live. Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps: * Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled * Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employedâbut in jobs that pay poverty wages

There is a whole contingent of Twitter that has convinced itself that high turnout is bad for Mamdani and good for Cuomo. If they actually believe that, the breakdowns on election night are going to be epic.
