Halfway through 2026, Chicago's Smart Streets pilot is on pace to roughly double 2025's fine total. New cameras have seen more consistent use in the last few months, and the majority of issued tickets continue to be 1st time warnings.

A benefit of the L having so much station redundancy downtown: it looks like all of State/Lake's ridership just got absorbed by the other Loop stations, primarily Washington/Wabash.

Reminder that alderman Nicole Lee is reminding drivers to slow down, but voted against the 25mph ordinance. Aldermen need to take traffic fatalities seriously.

Very frustrating that the first welcome-to-NITA change to my rider experience is a massive weekend service cut to kick off summer. Long waits at platforms because it takes forever to load, unload, and turn customers away, and an obviously frazzled conductor apologizing every stop.

Last summer Armitage was doing 80-90% of peak weekday service on Saturdays. Since purple doesn't run downtown on weekends, it was already seeing more riders per car than weekdays! Its not 2019 anymore. Cutting brown line weekend service in half makes no sense.

I’ll be riding out to from Daley Plaza to Palmisano Park at 6pm tomorrow and would love some company. Come Jam for Riley with me.
