Really enjoying writing this second entry in what I intend to be a companion trilogy to the main Gunmetal Olympus story. Madalithea's role in The Persephone Effect is allowing me to take her to surprising places in House of the Underworld. I'm so grateful that I've been allowed to do this!

I used to lie about my childhood to make it seem LESS awful because when I would share my experiences I realized that they were so much heavier than people were accustomed to hearing about that I ended up wishing I'd never shared at all.

I write cute, fluffy characters enduring—sometimes doing—awful things that also manage to find moments of cozy-comfort in the middle of it all. It's the only place comfort feels genuine to me, maybe my comically abusive childhood is the reason for that, but I just can't feel it without that edge.
