tbh indie is too broad of a term since it just means it was made independently, which can be either some dude on their spare time or a renowed game developer self funding a project. we need a new definition for it

it’s weird how people seem to have forgotten that sizeable companies can start up and produce games not all games are produced by multibillion-dollar corporations and their subsidiaries why do we have to call games with tens or hundreds of millions of dollars behind them “indie” all of a sudden?

Calling games with six or seven figure budgets "indie" destroys the visibility to much smaller projects with budgets of a couple thousand dollars, or projects with no funding at all. We can't call everything south of fucking Bethesda and Rockstar an indie game.
