Uneducated but curious Never bored Blocks AI slop on sight

I’m WRONG! A LOT! I haven’t got a problem admitting it. You think it makes me weak. I think being wrong is only ok if you reckon it and learn. Which is what I hope all of us want. And sometimes I make MISTAKES

Would never be acceptable for a Democrat. Diane Feinstein was coming to work and reporters were still asking her staff every day if she was still alive.

In 2012, California started adopting major progressive criminal justice reforms. Since then, the state has seen historic drops in crime, with homicide now at historic lows. Remember this when right-wing propagandists screech about crime in Democratic states. 🎁

Calistoga, a rustic and scenic town at the north end of the Napa Valley, famous for its mud baths, has rejected a proposed data center on town fair grounds. Residents were concerned about house, water usage, and pollution.

Er… This is not a new problem? US leadership always been very white & upper class. I mean, 3/5 compromise. "Only landowning white men can vote." Jim Crow. When past generations won civil rights gains, they did it WHILE running uphill. I take courage from that.

Opioid of the Masses (From 2016)
To many, Donald Trump feels good, but he can’t fix America’s growing social and cultural crisis, and the eventual comedown will be harsh.

Someday I want to see a really well reported story from the Iranian side on how they managed to systematically destroy the entire US military base archipelago America had built and relied on for decades, and why the US couldn’t protect them. We kind of shrug and move on but it’s astonishing.

Democracy depends on a free press and the preservation of free expression through all communication technologies as much as it depends on a stable economy. The Supreme Court's decision puts at risk how Congress intended independent agencies to function in American democracy. 🧵

Entire towns were built up and lots were sold on speculation that railroad lines would have a stop in their town. When they didn't, many became ghost towns. It was a tremendous waste of time, energy, effort, and resources. Exactly what the AI rollout feels like today.

A lot of media coverage of the ‘AI’ reading of the Herculaneum scrolls really fails to understand what’s happened here. There’s no language processing happening, the AI/ML is not trained on a corpus of texts or language. It can detect ink to see shapes. HUMAN EXPERTS are then transcribing the text.

Yeah I've had farmers assume I'm Latina bc 1) brunette, 2) work on farm, 3) they don't know me from childhood and I don't kiss their ass. "So clearly she's gotta be a foreigner!" Incoming rant re how "Americans won't work on farms" is racist as fuck actually, & we need to stop falling for it.
