sorry if I end up really neurotic about this in the future but recent practical medical decisions are causing me to be asked in detail about gender and sexuality things by clinicians which I've always been fine With

books should have an anti-acknowledgements section where the author talks shit about all the people who fucked them over while they were trying to write the thing. not bc I personally want to write one but bc I love gossip

thank god the red zone channel started running commercials. when it was commercial-free i'd get to 7:30 p.m., look at how i'd spent my day, and realize i'd burned through an entire sunday without growing or developing at all as a consumer. and if i'm not a consumer i'm nothing at all

's between-set playlist juxtaposition made me laugh on Friday. It suggested that, according to The Divinyls, Sandie Shaw's girl did, in fact; she just failed to arrive.

The Peale mastodon at the National Portrait Gallery in 2021. It’s the 1st mounted fossil skeleton displayed in the US (1805), and 2nd worldwide. Its original viewers didn’t know about evolution. Even extinction was a new concept. More fossils interpreted as history and art, please!

You know, just normal library stuff. It's hard to not become aroused when surround by the erotic power of that many books, finely organized and cared for. The smell of lignin gets to people.

| Richard Lasher You've been at a job long enough to know a decent colleague to chat with. The more you get to know them, the more they share. What's fact or fiction? You don't know, but you listen. Then there's one story that's so over the top—a bona fide lie. But then, a photo appears.

Hegseth's grasp at macho militarism, including pretty explicitly calling for soldiers to commit war crimes, reminded me of Barbara Ehrenreich's reaction to Abu Ghraib: "It is not enough to be equal to men when the men are acting like beasts."
