Better shot of my January quilt. Done in two early 19th century reproduction chintzes. One blue and some leftover brown. The outer border is trapunto. With this post I have shown all the quilts I currently use. From here on, I’ll be posting as I complete one Happy New Year everyone!

You might have seen this before, but this is the quilt I’m using for December. It has several names, including Pinwheel, Delectable Mountains or Kansas Troubles. The last name commemorates the violence surrounding whether Kansas would be a slave or free state. 1850’s prints.

This is the quilt I’m using for November. Mariners Compass design. All antique reproduction fabrics. Planned around the early 19th century chintz in the outer border.

Brought out the quilt I’m using for October. Made with the John Hewson reproduction prints along with with some others from my stash. I think this was one of the best reproduction fabric lines I’ve ever gotten my hands on. Dates to 1790-1800.

Last day of my friend’s cottage rental. Got one more lovely warm day kayaking.

Made an extra Sunburst block to make a hanging for my apartment door.

Just completed a new wall hanging for my dining area. Inspired by an 1850 quilt, the printed fabrics are all mid 19th century reproductions.

Don’t know about you, but speculating about Trump’s health was the most exciting part of my weekend.

I called the Medicare hotline and their canned info states that Medicare covers Covid vaccines. So not sure what’s happening. I’m grateful I was able to get the vaccine, and $200 isn’t going to break me. But it could be difficult for others with less.

I just got my Covid and flu vaccines at CVS. I am not in one of the 16 states where CVS changed its policy on the vaccine. I am over 65. I was told that Medicare refused to cover my Covid vaccine. I was required to pay $203 for my shot. Will update when I get more info

Best thing about this time of year is it’s still warm enough to sleep with the windows open. But it gets cool enough to sleep under the quilt.

Not a medical professional, but when I was in the hospital, they constantly checked my ankles for swelling. I got the impression that wouldn’t have been a good thing

One thing I missed when I downsized was gardening. Arthritis was making it difficult but it was a wrench. I’m adding more ways to have annuals on the balcony. Nasturtiums are now a favorite

This is part of an account book dated 1798. Later used by someone to practice penmanship. Love the little doodle of a long haired man smoking a pipe!

My Mom made her first quilt as a surprise for my 21st birthday (47 years ago) because she knew I was fascinated by them. Hand pieced, hand quilted. Well worn, well loved, still cherished. Thanks, Mom.

I just finished a kaleidoscope quilt for donation to Linus Project.

Brought out my May quilt. Pulled pink and green prints from my stash, all antique reproductions, finished with some yardage from Di Ford Hall.

The bedroom of my dollhouse. I made the whole cloth quilt and punch needled the hooked rug. To the right are a few pieces of Jane Graber salt glazed pottery. I love her work!

I finished my Delectable Mountain variation. The two prints are 1835 - 1850 reproductions by Pam Buda. I quilted the outer border in black so it didn’t detract from the print. The pattern has other names including Kansas Troubles.

This is the quilt I use for April. The prints are a mix of 19th century reproductions including Sturbridge village. The broidery perse wreaths are from a Di Ford Hall print. The outer border is the prettiest pillar print I’ve ever had

I bought an embroidery frame. Saw this on the box, it brought me up short. As scary as things are in the US, they’re worse over there

This is the quilt I use for March. I made it during lockdown in 2020. I shopped my stash, using my collection of Sturbridge Village reproductions. Soothing work in a dark time.

I should be doing laundry today. But I don’t want to. I still have clean underwear in the drawer. So quilting it is!
