Thought I was going to be squashed today by yet another driver not looking or slowing down at the junction of Titchbourne Row and Oxford Square in Bayswater today. This junction seems rife for rat-running drivers not giving way – had many similar close calls @westminster-lcc.bsky.social

This is the best cycling advert ever, especially because I’m in it. It beautifully shows that cycling is for everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from. Bikes bring people together and remind us that cycling is one of the best ways to improve our health and wellbeing.

So sad that these desperately needed schemes will probably be binned off now Westminster Council is controlled by the Tories ☹️

We initially designed the protected cycle infrastructure to include the RBKC side of Bayswater Road. Not surprising but nonetheless a depressing reply came back: "Stepped tracks and bus stop by-passes are just not something that is supported in RBKC currently." 1/

We are in a genitocracy. Tax cuts and free healthcare and welfare (in the form of pensions) for old people. No incentives for young people. We can’t afford homes which are horded by the old. We are mercilessly taxed to pay for their lives. This is just another stealth tax on the young.

The strategic road network is managed by a charity and relies on the goodwill of land owners for access. Some motorways will be muddy and flooded each winter. Also The strategic road network stops randomly at council boundaries and investment is where councils are willing. (UK edition).

Great thread. It really does feel like progress in London is glacial outside of some bight-spots like Camden, Islington and Hackney, and seems to be getting slower. C7 is going backwards! The demand for cycling is clearly there given ridership growing annually, but it’s being suppressed by inaction.

RIP some of the few wands TfL did reinstall on Clapham High Street. Whilst locking my bike up, I saw: 1. Motorcyclist riding the entire length of the cycle lane 2. A car driver cut into the lane here to go around another driver waiting to turn right 3. A bus straddle the lane
