The new cycle lane layout at the north end of Lambeth bridge is ok (and already at capacity), having a bus stop straight after rejoining the road less so.

The risks older drivers pose and lack of testing drivers competency are known but no government wants to risk upsetting pensioners. Change will only happen when a large number of crashes happen in a short period leading to a campaign to do something.

An unsurprising result. The more I read about these convictions the less safe they seemed. The problem being Libor didnât have a right answer, it was just an average of estimates.

He's one of Britain's richest men. So why does Asif Aziz's property company keep leasing London gift shops to overseas students based in abandoned offices or flytipped car parks â before vanishing without paying millions of pounds in taxes?

It's maddening to me how much Covid is at the root of so many of today's crises and we just...don't talk about it? Take the spike in children needing SEND provision. Did anything huge and traumatic happen recently that might have affected thousands of kids? No? Must be parents making it up

NEW: Big study of low-traffic neighbourhoods in London suggest they cut road injuries and deaths by more than a third within their boundaries with no apparent negative safety effect on nearby roads. This feels a *major* boost for proponents of such schemes.
