Definitely. Also my survey on reasons for home educating pointed to this group as a key driver - children with SEND needs but no EHCP made up 66% of respondents (12% EHCP; only 22% said no needs).

This is interesting, and I think speaks to future potential of anticipatory service delivery, which will be good for some use cases, potentially very problematic for others (such as justice and children's social care, where bias is a non-trivial factor)

A year 10 (15 year old) student told me he’d made all of the “Mr Shaha’s Marvellous Machines”. I assumed he was taking the piss. Turns out he wasn’t - his mother told me during parents evening yesterday that he had bought the book and their house was full of his makes. Made my week.

So policy makers either face the choice of building a China-style repressive Internet to enforce the law by stripping privacy and security for all of its users – banning VPNS etc – or eventually admitting it got this one wrong, probably after several more countries copy the policy.

I’m shocked, stunned etc. Meanwhile, everywhere else around the world assumes Australia has cracked it and are rushing to copy their law.
