Significant that the High Court ruling is still, in places, quite damning of Palestine Action. It emphatically rejects that the group is engaged in "civil disobediance", for example. It just finds (compellingly) that proscription was still wrong, despite that.

If I want my garden waste collected I now have to pay £75 a year. Started out at £40 in the first year, £50 last year and now it's gone to £75. People can't afford it and they are just dumping their garden waste in laybys late at night. Most of the country lanes are turning into tips.

We have spoken to people working in Government in 2009 and 2010 who describe Mr Mandelson's actions as "treachery" or even "treason". But unless he seduced the King's daughter, slew the Lord Chamberlain etc, the various Treason Acts won't apply. (yes, amazingly this is still the law)
