Slender sun orchid (Thelymitra pauciflora) and pink sun orchid (Thelymitra carnea) flowering close together near the Genoa River, East Gippsland, VIC. These two small sun orchids combine to form some interesting hybrids at this location but I didn't see any out this year on my quick visit #orchids

Small-flowering Catchfly, my star find today, unfortunately I found it as it was getting dark (thus grainy photos). Fallow arable field near Polperro today. #wildflowerhour Silene gallica var. gallica

Dad tawny was scratching a LOT before he finally flew down to the grass to let the sun do a bit of delousing for him. In the third pic, he’s shuffled a bit further out into the sun. We’ve seen them do this few times now. Apparently, maggies do it too. #tawnyfrogmouth #ausbirds #wildoz #birds

Small pink Caladenia orchid variations near the Mongarlowe River, Monga, NSW. Some interesting variations in flower colour and size in roadside plants on the edge of tall forest. Most plants here are prob closer to C. carnea although C. fuscata is more common to the north around Mongarlowe #orchids

Stylidium tenue - Little Fountain Triggerplant Look closely at a triggerplant and you’ll spot the flower’s sensitive column, carrying both the anther & stigma at the end. The anther develops first, the stigma develops after the anther shrivels 🌿🌱 #Stylidium #ozflora #wildoz #nature #pollination

Thelymitra ixioides (spotted sun orchid) variations growing side by side in open grassland near the Genoa River, VIC. Most spotted suns here have smaller flowers (+ fewer flowers / plant on shorter stems) than more typical coastal forms. Flower colour + shape is also very variable #orchids #ozplants

Day 15 of the #NovemberFlowerChallenge, and a good one despite the mist. Some good chalk species added from Lydden, including a late Autumn Gentian, Basil Thyme, Dyers Greenweed and a solitary Botanists’ Thistle. And Monkey-Flower by the Dour. Now on 228 species.

For #BSky Beer: The Kernel NZ Indian Pale Ale. 6.7% ABV. Been wanting to try something from this brewery for some time, and this did not disappoint. Sharp and fresh, with a nice boozy kick.

Kept for years...oak cask fermented blueberry tripel from Mikkeller. The tart fruit has moderated and the funky lambic and woody notes bring a nice dry finish. More like wine than beer and so much more complex than several years ago. 9.5% abv #bskybeer #Mikkeller

Sooooooo shiny!! Really is obsurd how shiny #Elythranthera brunonisflowers are! They really do seem to look as if they have been coated in enamel!

Pink forms of Caladenia alata (fairy fingers) north of Mallacoota, VIC. All of the plants in this small patch have the same pink flowers -while all of the plants in more open heathland nearby are the more typical white-flowering forms of this delicate orchid. These pink forms may be hybrids #orchids
