I think the committee will drop Alabama two spots after its blowout loss to Georgia ...

Projecting the final College Football Playoff rankings: Is Alabama in or out?
Everyone thought the Crimson Tide was safe coming into championship weekend. But does Alabama's 21-point loss to Georgia create an opportunity for both Miami and Notre Dame to make the 12-team field?

Perhaps God should spend less time worrying about college football. I suggest God focus things that actually require God’s attention, and leave worrying about college football to us.

See, but the CFP knows who’s better and should ignore head-to-head in that basis.

Look, if the first game of the year and the last game of the year don’t count toward playoff consideration then I don’t think that’s right either.

They want the best CFP playoffs? Put both Miami and Notre Dame in with a potential rematch. Cinema and the highest ranked game of the playoffs. Alabama doesn’t belong

Now we are poised for the scenario that everyone outside of the Birmingham metro area would like: Miami and Notre Dame in, Alabama out.

We are poised for the stupid scenario where Bama scores again, Georgia closes it out 28-14, and the committee gives Alabama credit for “keeping it close in the fourth quarter.”

I think it’s totally reasonable to say “if they played again today, Notre Dame would beat Miami”. I don’t think it’s reasonable to pretend that opinion means anything

I cannot imagine the level of moral bankruptcy to describe the actions of people whose boat has just been hit by a missile from nowhere (this was the FIRST such strike) and who were most likely making a desperate attempt not to drown in the ocean as trying to "stay in the fight."

Miami's best-case scenario is BYU loses by a couple touchdowns or more to Texas Tech, and the Hurricanes move up and are next to Notre Dame. Then, for whatever reason, it's "easier" to take the head-to-head result into consideration, and they flip-flop with ND at the last second.

CFP chair Hunter Yurachek says that idle teams can move up/down in response to results of conference championship weekend. So, sounds like the fact that Notre Dame is ahead of Miami right now does NOT mean they are locked into those spots & order.

Oklahoma beat Bama. Oklahoma is ahead of Bama despite the same record (and the worst loss in the field). Texas beat Vandy. Texas is ahead of Vandy despite one more loss. Miami beats Notre Dame and has the same record. Miami is two spots behind Notre Dame (and out of the CFP).

Biggest questions heading into tonight's CFP rankings: - Will Miami make a move? Will the win over Notre Dame actually, finally come into play? - How close will Texas get to the 12-team field? - How solid is Oklahoma's No. 8 spot?
