Oh my god, the reason we have analysis and opinions from academics/experts is because their work and lives are laser focused on areas the average person is too under read (not necessarily ignorant) and too busy with regular life shite to care that deeply. We *need* experts. This is so irresponsible.

It’s 2026 and one of the first things that has happened is that a major news outlet has announced that it will no longer seek information from experts. I don’t think this is gonna help with what I think is the most existential threat to our society currently: disinformation.

In praise of Tubi: not only do they slap their name on THEE most bonkers original films (from this year, Hag is a standout; Match is… well, proceed with caution), but they have the original 1959-1964 run of The Twilight Zone, which is great for when I can’t commit to a whole film but need a story.

First of all, it’s totally okay to say “I don’t want to talk about it,” especially to someone who you know is just going to smugly clown at you because they think you’re stupid for taking precautions they refuse to understand. But I truly doubt he’s ever asked. Did everyone clap, too, Jon Stewart?
