Iâm always struck by how many civic spaces in the US still have âPOW MIAâ flags flying, even though thatâs been conclusively debunked by historians. It would be like if in thirty years, all government buildings in the US are flying flags for the victims of QAnon.

It's true. If farmers and farming communities and the exurban hangers on stopped voting, we would, in fact, get out of this mess.

whole states have stopped their election processes faster than the Biden administration was able to respond to an opinion that had already been leaked months earlier. i don't mean this as a random jab; republicans just understand power in a way that dems do not.

100%. Until the Supreme Court is reformed and the corrupt members removed, nothing else matters because the Supreme Court and its corrupt members will just stand in the way of everything else. Any Democrat who can't get behind that simple fact should leave politics now.

My actual take on these NYT âhereâs some moronsâ things is that people are basically calling out for mediating insitutions to make politics comprehensible to them, because most people are not weird freaks like you probably are if youâre reading this, that like paying attention to this shit.

I donât think a lot of progs understand that the non-vibesession explanation is the worse option for them. It means Americans are much more sensitive to inflation than mass unemployment and wage stagnation, which is kind of a death knell for a real, sustainable workers politics in this country.

The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.

You shouldn't be in Dem leadership if you're voting to give* Netanyahu $295 million in armored bulldozers. You are way out of step with your party. You're out of step with Dem-leaners too. * It's nominally a "sale," but paid for by us given the $3.8 billion in annual foreign military financing.
