Loved the sequence of Ospreay attempting the sunset bomb, Swerve blocking it, so Ospreay turning it into a Styles Clash, Swerve blocking THAT, so Will spins him into the stairs. Felt like an organic progression the way it flowed.

Swerve just hit Ospreay with what I can only describe as the "Bitch Slap" variation of the Hidden Blade.

Modern cage matches are funny because the announcers are always like "This is the scariest event since D-Day, lives will be changed forever" and in execution they're Carrot Top performances where people also cut themselves.

Thought Mercedes was a great ring general in that match. Buying time as Maya dealt with multiple wardrobe malfunctions. Bumped and sold her ass off, called quick audibles when spots went wrong. She held that thing together through force of will.

Forbidden Door has been a card with very good matches with spotty crowd reactions due to zero emotional stakes. So of course the match with emotional stakes and good crowd reactions had to deal with all sorts of problems. They overcame them in that finishing stretch.

Women's Owen Final has turned into a handicap match with Maya battling both Mercedes and her wig.

I hate when wrestlers have matches that are personally meaningful to them because I get residual anxiety. I get possessed by the spirits of 1,000 Dads and spend the entire match prepping a "The important thing is you tried your best" speech in my head, just in case.

There needs to be a split screen later where Taro is being given a swirlie while Tanahashi is in the press box double fisting hot dogs, surrounded by empty Dippin' Dots containers.

AEW's breakout character of 2026 is Taro Okada and his never ending suffering when he just wants a nice American vacation.
