AEW Dynasty presser recap. Tony feels "pretty incredible."

Dynasty was probably AEW's most consistent PPV in a while. It did feel like more of a show that set up the future though. A lot of middle chapters. Kind of surprised they had Jericho, C&C and Omega all lose tonight. Ospreay losing clean too. Guess they figure KOR's win is enough.

AEW needs a Pepcid AC partnership. Omega takes a tablet and hulks up to win a key match. "Turns out I just always had indigestion. Have to stop eating vegetarian chili at catering."

WrestleMania build has been so bad that MJF shouting "CROSS RHODES" doesn't even get a reaction.

MJF audibly telling Kenny "Move closer" but I can explain that in head cannon as a sudden longing to be neighbors.

Mid-match review of Omega/Max: Lotta good screams. Also some grunts.

If Omega/MJF delivers, this is the best PPV AEW has done in a fair bit.

Ospreay/Mox was so cool. Real dude shit. A lot of story told through wrestling, but because the match didn't stop halfway through to give me a video package it flew over my head. Hopefully podcasts can explain it all to me.

If Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega wrestle at Wembley it's just going to be one person grabbing their neck and one person grabbing their stomach for 45 minutes.

Love that Ospreay both shoved the ref but then helped him up. Great encapsulation of his character tonight: he's angry enough to do something out of character but he's still a babyface.

Whenever they sell serious injuries they say stuff like "HE COULDN'T PLAY WITH HIS KID FOR SIX MONTHS" but they don't mention that they probably didn't have to do chores for that time either. Announcers always looking at half-empty glasses.

Thekla/Hayter was a bad ass fight between two women that intimidate me. Well, most women intimidate me, but that's due to crippling fears of abandonment and inadequacy, and not because I'm afraid they could beat me up. Okay, and also that they could beat me up.

Jericho and C&C both losing. AEW going to have all three big Canadian acts lose in Vancouver? Darby winning the future title shot certainly makes you think that, but who knows?

I think I have seen every possible opinion on Jericho/Ricochet in the half-hour after it happened.

Andrade and Darby have fantastic chemistry. Andrade/AEW may be the only successful rebound relationship in the history of human existence.

Darby is always game to do some crazy shit but in Andrade he has found someone who is athletically capable and willing to do it *with* him instead of just *to* him.

Much respect for Jericho gutting through this match in the face of 40 texts from his wife about Viktor Orban.

Bucks/Takeshita and Okada was so good I accepted the can we co-exist tropes.

Doing the "Was that an accident?!" partner hits partner spot right after said partners intentionally attacked each other is pretty funny.

When I do these years in review I read grumpy middle aged people criticize things I liked when I saw them as a little kid and I realize time is a flat circle. We all eventually become The Dread Pirate Roberts.

As someone who loves the surreal experience of seeing folks online defend or deny things that the people in promotions are privately saying are true, the arc of "How dare you say Mania ticket sales are down year over year?" to McAfee making it part of the go home message is fun.

I said this a couple years ago when AEW was going through a rough spell and wrestlers were saying "Restore the feeling" a little too much: You can play the "We know things aren't good, we're going to fix it" card, but you can't play it often.

The WrestleMania build kicking off with Roman Reigns saying creative sucks, and now it ending with Pat McAfee saying the product sucks? That's the kind of thoughtful, consistent storytelling that other wrestling promotions can only dream of. It's why WWE is king.
