I had tickets to WorldCon 2020. It was going to be my first international trip. Then the pandemic happened. It can't replace that WorldCon but if it's in Brisbane, that means I (and many others in the Southern Hemisphere who missed out on Wellington) might actually be able to attend!

Yes, Swiss scientist Fritz Zwicky coined the term βdark matterβ which is impressive, but he also coined the term βspherical bastardβ to describe people who are bastards no matter which way you look at them, and I think that should be celebrated more.

Every time I hear men talk about destroying this planet so they can travel to a dead one, I think about how miraculous the existence of Earth is, and how capitalists should never be permitted to make decisions about space exploration.

I went to a romance bookstore in Brooklyn (it was fun!!) but all I bought was straight books because all the stories in the LGBTQ section were cutesy and positive. and I literally want to read books where all of the main characters are horrible people

Fuck it. Be a hater. One star that book. Throw popcorn at the movie screen. Boo! Hiss! Vow never to shop at the sponsor of today's video. You don't have to be nice all the time. Sometimes, you can be the problem, and that's a beautiful thing actually.

We could be 5 to 10 years from toothpaste that can regrow tooth enamel. The scales are beginning to tip in favor of Mars once sustaining life. Weβll potentially know for sure by 2040. The blue macaw is up to 160 individuals from an all-time low of 7, and confirmed to be breeding in the wild.

My brain is so stupid. I love it so much. I get drunk on 0% beer. Why? It's 0%. I know it's 0%. But somehow, knowing that it's a placebo doesn't stop it from placeboing. I taste the silly water and so I get silly. Stupid, foolish, lovely brain.
