I write about werewolves, spaceships, and sometimes other things.
pinned post!
My debut scifi novel Of Monsters and Mainframes is coming out in June 2025. It's about computers dealing with a whole aisle of Halloween monsters and maybe falling in love in space. ππ§πΊπ¦π

"Horror books have too much cannibalism." WRONG! All other genres don't have enough cannibalism. Frankly, horror isn't even exemplary in this subject, but at least she's showing up to class.

Of Monsters and Mainframes is in the Goodreads Choice Awards scifi finalists AND on Waterstones list of best scifi!! In 2022, when I started writing this goofy spaceship vs. Dracula idea, I remember thinking 'no one else will like this, this is just for me'. I'm so so glad to be proven so so wrong.

This week has been a bit bumpy. Actually, really bumpy. Too fucking bumpy. I've been feeling those bumps, is what I'm sayin'. But, on the plus side, the librarians on tumblr found and old post of mine and they've been sending me a lot of highly strange messages (my favourite kind).

We could be 5 to 10 years from toothpaste that can regrow tooth enamel. The scales are beginning to tip in favor of Mars once sustaining life. Weβll potentially know for sure by 2040. The blue macaw is up to 160 individuals from an all-time low of 7, and confirmed to be breeding in the wild.

My brain is so stupid. I love it so much. I get drunk on 0% beer. Why? It's 0%. I know it's 0%. But somehow, knowing that it's a placebo doesn't stop it from placeboing. I taste the silly water and so I get silly. Stupid, foolish, lovely brain.

In my experience, courage is usually the product of love and/or solidarity. When we are deeply invested in each other, we are more likely to take risks that we wouldn't take out of mere principle, or for the sake of people we feel disconnected from. Our alienation mass produces cowardice.
