The ideal I've been stretching towards is making the code a legible spec on it's own. Tricky, and often language-dependent, but if I can avoid dual sources of truth, it's a huge win.

hot take: it's especially important NOT to outsource all your writing to AI, because writing is quickly becoming a far more important skill being able to eloquently communicate what you need in natural language greatly increases the quality of results you get from AI
