I keep hearing great things about Phantom Peak. I'm planning on going in July. For anyone else reading this, we did The Shrewsbury Express escape room which is my current favourite, so highly recommend that. Live actors but not scary, just very very funny.

Maths teachers who like puzzles and escape rooms - I very much recommend Phantom Peak in London. Went there yesterday for my daughter’s birthday. Four hour immersive mystery/adventure experience. Wasn’t sure what to expect and thought we might hate it but it was brilliant. So original and quirky. 👍

I've been reading up a bit on the British Mathematical Olympiads, and two things have amused me: 1) The BMO2 was known as "FIST" until 1991, when, presumably, someone realised it wasn't a great name for an exam 😅 2) The early past papers (1972 onwards) were just sort of bashed out on a typewriter

I love breaking the unspoken rule about fraction diagrams (all pieces congruent, not just equal in area). Here are a few of my favourite non-standard representations. A one radian sector fills half the unit square, the curves y = x² and y = √x enclose 1/3 of the square. Can you come up with more?

#mathstoday I've had in the past students finding it difficult to decide if an expression would factorise into a single or double bracket. So I created a mix of 20 questions to try and build that skill of deciding which one to use. Unsurprisingly a lot of them struggled. Better now than an exam!
