the absence of type safety is responsible for loss of life and livelihood in the same way as absence of memory safety or thread safety. if you are writing serious software, it is not a matter of taste.

i keep trying to seriously use opencode with gemini for tasks it should be good at and it ends up hanging or behaving strangely. it's in pretty stark contrast to the takes i see from other people on this site. perhaps i am doing something wrong?

1. installed nushell, went to remove welcome prompt 2. docs say to run `config nu` and add a line to config 3. `config nu` opens in my `$env.EDITOR` 4. it somehow already has autocompletion turns out helix auto detects the nu binary on path as its own language server that is *magical* ux

My favorite language is awesome, and yours is a blight on the software industry. The reason why is simply because my favorite language (which is awesome) does things differently from your favorite language (which sucks). My favorite language addresses real world problems, while your favorite

the systemd devs decided they needed to gradually replace dbus with an actually good system then, instead of using a shared memory ipc like iceoryx2 with binary encoded messages, they went with fucking null byte terminated json over sockets and called it varlink unix is the deadliest mind virus

It'simple: Everyone who is more into functional programming than me is a dork with math envy afraid of actual hardware, everyone who is less into functional programming than me is an uncultured philistine stuck in 1982 writing C.

it is genuinely impressive how, by following the most basic possible standards for quality and usability, hs robotics programming is several orders of magnitude more usable and robust than literally any research or academic robotics related software i have encountered or had to write myself
