Did you know your MacBook has a sensor that knows the exact angle of the screen hinge? It’s not exposed as a public API, but I figured out a way to read it and make it sound like an old wooden door.

Reading coverage of the Victorian Budget and seriously, we give far too much credence to the wrecked and corrupt ratings agencies that helped cause the GFC and suffered absolutely zero consequences. Oh no, they're spending extra GST revenue on health instead of paying down debt. Yeah f*ck off.

This is quite an extraordinary table from Streem showing how many seats each party would have won if their share of seats matched their share of media coverage during the campaign. You're not imagining it. The Murdoch press et al didn't shut up about Dutton. Lucky no-one was listening.

Now they have a mandate, Labor really needs to read the room and stop trying to court bipartisanship with the Coalition! Go back to your social democratic and labourist roots! Do a Carney and announce inclusion of dental into Medicare! Do something to help and inspire Aussies!

Some folks hold up the small % of developers who do TDD as evidence that it doesn't work. Because if it did, "everybody would be doing it". Yes. As a profession, we famously do things if they work - like iterative development, continuous testing and user-centred design. All very common, no?

To the politicians & ‘leaders’ who’ve nurtured & emboldened racism in Australia, then condemn & feign shock at the repugnant booing incident... Fanning the flames, then expressing sorrow at the damage the fire’s doing. We see the hate mongering, greedy, opportunists you are.

The hatred against trans women probably makes me as sad as anything else happening in this world. Have never encountered a transphobe who doesn’t also reveal their homophobia and racism with the slightest scratch. Transphobes devote their lives to hatred. My contempt for them is total.

The issue isn't that Dutton is going to shape his campaign and tactics 100% on Trump (different playing fields) but that Dutton gets his research and analysis from the same think tanks and specialised comms groups that the Republicans do. Same culture wars shit, diluted down for Australian tastes.
