A very unusual nest! A pair of Wood Warblers Phylloscopus sibilatrix feeding young Wrens Troglodytes troglodytes. I presume the warblers' nest was predated and they found this similar looking nest nearby and began to feed the young even though the adult Wrens were too! Dartmoor, Devon this morning.

Avocet chicks hatch ready to run. Within hours, they’re wading through shallow lagoons, feeding themselves as they follow both parents along the water’s edge. The adults stay close, watching carefully and calling sharply at the first sign of danger. #SpringStories
