Red-veined Darter (male & female) on Kingsdown beach this evening.

A 04:15 start on Chislet Marshes in the hope of finding a Quail (I didn't). Even @ 04:30, 3 Norfolk Hawker and 3 Emperor Dragonfly were flying around. Also saw my first 7 Willow Emerald Damselfly of the year along with 12 Emerald Damselfly. @britishdragonflies.bsky.social #KentDragonflies

The 16th June was the first record I have received of this species this year, unless anyone has an earlier date. The nymphs at Nethergong have a few weeks to go yet I would say.

With dull cloudy skies, I had a netting session at Nethergong where I caught c50 WILLOW EMERALD DAMSELFLY NYMPHS. Most were still very small but good numbers in a small area. @britishdragonflies.bsky.social #KentDragonflies

Brilliant hour this afternoon in a brief weather window at Swanscombe marshes watching Red-veined Darters found by Kelly Ann yesterday. We managed a minimum of 15 individuals including two pairs of. Also a superb Lesser Emperor. The site had a single RVD a few years ago but not seen more until now
