Anyway I think the way Frey is doing that is deeply connected to the idea that because Minneapolis has a sanctuary policy it must be fine, when sanctuary policies are full of (often criminalization-related) things that easily dismiss the separation.

I think the focus that Frey (and others) have on exactly what kind of activity happened in Minneapolis (whether it was an *ICE raid* or not, what MPD was doing there, what dept was doing what, etc) is that it relies on people not seeing "the merger of the criminal legal and immigration systems"

Yes. And speaking as a library worker in an urban area in Minnesota, it's fraught everywhere. We get a lot more support than some but your support is needed in every city 📚💓
