I could write a whole page about the cisgender kids in school who went by names not on their birth certificate. Heck, in Spanish class, everyone used a fake name (except one kid who already had a Spanish name). But the fascists found out it matters a lot to people they hate, so now it's DaNgErOuS.

We need to start having these conversations in Austin. You should be having them in your city too.

The maddening thing is that we know EXACTLY how to prevent this. Yes, kids should get vaccinated, test, stay home when sick, mask as much as possible. But even without any of that: Better ventilation and filtration in schools can MASSIVELY reduce viral spread, for all sorts of respiratory diseases.

Also seeing how strict return-to-office mandates are making people go to work sick again rather than offer the flexibility to ride out coughs and colds at home.
