Hey sound designers, for nature recordings, capturing ambience, etc, what would you say is a good step up from a Zoom H4n. I’m tempted by something like a Zoom F3, but I would miss having built-in mics, even if they aren’t terrific.

The last time I was at a studio with a layoff, a meeting was derailed because the director asked, with increasing irritation, which engineer was supposed to design a feature that underpinned the whole game. That engineer had been laid off 2 days prior, and no one else knew how to do it.

I was a Firaxis narrative designer/writer and lost my job today. Any help sharing leads on new opportunities would be great! Over 3.5 years, I contributed to Civilization VII and Marvel’s Midnight Suns, helping turn maps, mechanics, and chaos into memorable stories. See my work benreeves.carrd.co
