📌We are being besieged by toxic masculinity in this country. Emotionally illiterate, weak, immature men are lashing out, because it's easier than calling themselves into account. It's been going on forever, is dangerous, and really, really fucking tiresome.

Nobody cares about the victims in the Dallas ICE shooting apparently. The first I've heard about one of them was on CNN today. He's fighting for his life in the hospital --- he was brought to the US when he was 13. He's 33 now. No criminal record. I just don't know what to say anymore.

Today's mission: Treat yourself to some reading time. 📚 Doesn't matter if you read regularly or if this is the first book you have touched in a while. It can be a physical or digital book, an audiobook, a graphic novel, or a picture book with your kiddo. You deserve some reading time.

I know it's hard to do but you have to tune out the constant & I mean constant torrent of criticisms on social media re: activism & organizing. If you don't, it can stop you from trying to do any activism or organizing. Most of the critics aren't doing any organizing themselves so keep trying things

I've seen a lot of videos lately of women that are peacefully protesting being violently thrown to the ground by angry men dressed in tactical gear with big guns. It's disgusting and jarring, but can I also point out that the women aren't the ones that look weak or scared.

Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.

chose to defy the governor’s order that his county fly flags at half staff for Kirk. The fact that people are able to stick their necks out to do the right thing puts into sharper contrast just how many are not willing to do so.
