Not an endorsement, but my first reaction to hearing about today's Louvre heist was that I was impressed that they could pull it off.

as a person who has studied discursive theory it is very very annoying to me that ppl have come to think "performative" means "shallow, posturing, devoid of political substance"

I really want to clarify that my goal isn't to "dunk on the leftists" w/ this point. I wasn't trying to look down on anyone & score rhetorical points. That's the opposite of what I wanted to do: Emphasize the importance of solidarity when we need it most, & not miss the forest for the trees.

The President is disgusting and a disgrace. And he’s clearly rattled by yesterday’s turnout. Keep speaking out. The power belongs to the people.

My shyness and how I avoided people my whole life. Now I know it was my ADHD and neurodivergence. I'm realizing it was me protecting myself from overstimulation, misunderstanding social cues, and the fear of saying "too much". I wish I knew sooner and stopped being mad at myself so long for it.

For years I felt like I was failing to treat and manage my depression, and only now do I realize that it was a symptom and not a cause. I didn't know about my ADHD and neurodivergence, and my depression came from feeling guilty that I couldn't think or function "like a normal person."

I'm learning late in life what it means to have ADHD & be neurodivergent. That I'm not broken for always trying to find answers. I try to find the truth & strongly believe in justice. My empathy from my ADHD is a strength. What's happening in this country & around the world hurts my very being.

Trump posted this to impress MAGA and show how he's still in charge despite the nationwide protests. This is what MAGA sees as strength in leadership, when everyone outside their bubble sees this as insecurity and a pathetic attempt to show strength.

Strong leaders don't need to act like this to prove their strength. Weak leaders are insecure because their control is fragile. Fascists use intimidation and trolling to upset people, because they want people to feel despair and fear. It's how they maintain dominance. Today's protests scared them.

Fascists hate mockery because it breaks the illusion that they're invincible. They rule by fear. Dominance through intimidation. Laughing at fascists is a way to gain back control, and that laughter is contagious.

People who are dismissing these protests are missing the courage required for folks to show up to a #nokings event in small, rural, predominantly Republican communities. These people spend a lot of social capital to show up with signs and it’s really, really inspiring.

Did they expect joining an authoritarian paramilitary to be all sunshine and rainbows? People hate that shit.

Now at the Broadview ICE facility, where ~100 people have gathered to protest. Compared to the carnival-esque atmosphere of the No Kings march in Chicago, the vibes here are tense. State & local police eyeing the crowd in the "free speech zones" while masked feds watch from the facility roof.

"no billionaires" also isn't the same as "no rich people". Billionaires aren't millionaires. Billionaires have more money than some countries, and have the wealth to influence world politics. Not one single person should have that kind of power.

People respond well to integrity. Stay firm in your morals and principles, and don't be wishy-washy because something didn't poll well. That wins elections too.

The thing about cops is that while they're never gonna be woke what they *are* is extremely territorial and I think a lot of them are beginning to chafe at a bunch of ICE GS-5s showing up from who knows where trying to tell them how to run shit in their towns.

I sometimes see people dismissing the No Kings protests as performative. Protesting *is* inherently performative. It's unity in the face of injustice, to inspire more people to notice and join. That leads to change. It *is* brave to protest under a government that attacks dissenting speech.
