Totally agree, and would love more discussion around this. #atproto apps should ideally be more upfront in how they actually store stuff. The Atmosphere is more than just a friends graph.

Now, when viewing your own profile page, you'll see a dense table view of all of your books in your hive. This should allow for easier management of book statuses, after a large import!

Working on getting a submission to the App Store for the BookHive iOS app. Here is a little sneak peek 😉

Second submission coming in, I hope that Apple is satisfied by my explanation that I don't actually collect any sign-up data and all the information is publicly available, so I'm not really tracking anybody or anything. Will be great to have @bookhive.buzz finally on the app store!

Just paid for an Apple Developer account... Now, it's just figuring out how to sign and release an app 🫠 @bookhive.buzz is getting an app!

Thanks to @tijs.org, we now won't log you out every 15 minutes. And, more importantly, we now have a "recent buzzes from friends", keep up with any book updates from people you follow on bluesky!

I want to build something for @bookhive.buzz where I can actually have my Koreader device synchronize my progress, as I'm reading the book. But, to do this, I will need a change on Koreader to provide more information about the current book being synced. I made a GitHub issue for it, and a patch.

I did end up buying The Shadow of What Was Lost and started reading it. Fun to see that @baileytownsend.dev added it as a “To Read” not long ago.

Went on a day trip out to Chilliwack and stopped by The Book Man, a really great new & used bookstore www.bookman.ca I like browsing for unusual & classic used cookbooks. Decided to enter them in @bookhive.buzz I’d like to make my own “shelves” - these are in “want to read”.

We now support importing books from a Goodreads export! This allows you to migrate over your books to a platform that respects your data, built on ATProto.

I've been dormant for the winter, but now that it is spring, I'm back to work on the app. Here is a small update on the BookHive App
