idea: atmosphere brands could publish a lexicon record to their PDS similar to “com.atproto.lexicon.schema” that serves as a brand style guide and includes all of their current branding material (logo, icons, colors, etc) so that other apps/projects can find them in a standardized way

this is also why i've become disillusioned with local-first software powered by an open source sync servers that anyone can run if an app developer goes away. truly resilient software needs public and community-run infrastructure.

here's my take on a minimal oauth browser client for atproto! no special API client class — just use plain `fetch` to make requests and a service worker automatically handles authorization headers/token refreshes/dpop retries/etc. (very experimental, not tested in production, use at your own risk)

also if you work on an atproto app please prioritize switching to granular oauth scopes! they've been officially documented for a few months now. it's just not safe to request write permissions for a user's entire account

this could be improved even further if the PDS supported a single flow to create an account *and* issue an oauth token so apps don't need to redirect twice

When an app that doesn't operate a PDS guides a user through setup it can fluidly guide the user to pre-choose their handle and create an account on a PDS provider:

this is the thing that's so fun about local-first too scaling up is way less interesting than scaling down
