There are only two options here 1- people who live in built up areas subsidizing people in high wildfire risk areas (which to be fair is a combo of rich people and low income rural areas) 2- insurance fund goes bankrupt regularly and has to be bailed out by state general fund

Congrats to every country that decided it had to pre-emptively roll over for Trumps bullshit and agree to a nonsense "trade deal" despite knowing better. You can join the Fell For It Again line with the law firms and universities that did the same.

We don't have cultural language outside of economics for our shared feelings about what we're living through in the U.S. I think a lot of the "vibecession" is lingering unhappiness with the (non-economic) impacts of the pandemic.

Here's what DHS doesn't want you to know: Working for ICE is one of the safest jobs in America — and last year was the second-safest year for the agency on record. And the doxxing? It hasn't actually happened even once. The masks are justified by a lie.

This, from

is exactly right. And I think so many folks have refused to see or admit what Trump is because admitting implicates them, or their families, so denial is easier.
