Having a functional electoral democracy is one of the most precious achievements of human civilization. We figured out how to—mostly at least—have our fights with slips of paper instead of killing each other. That's what's ultimately at stake, that's the depth of Graham's betrayal of society itself.

Lindsey Graham committed a more flagrant and more serious crime against democracy than anything George Santos ever did.

All the other senators of both parties knew he did this, saw it come out in the investigations, it hasn't been a secret. And none of them ever even suggested a sitting senator caught red-handed in an election fraud conspiracy merited looking into, much less what it should have gotten him: expulsion.

It got muddled b/c it was mostly seen as incidental to getting at Trump himself, but Graham didn't just vaguely lean on Raffensperger. He told him to falsify the tally by not counting ballots. Straight-up criminal election fraud no different from telling a poll worker to go dump votes in the trash.
