TAS Pride

If anyone who is trans/gnc is interested in this or more importantly, helping me run it, let me know.

I want something that helps bring together TASers from all sorts of communities: trans and gnc pride. My goal is to have the server be a place of discussion and support and hopefully eventually host competitions and events.

I guess now is as good of a time as any to announce this: I'm putting in the groundwork to get a trans/nonbinary/gender nonconforming/questioning TASer discord server made. This wouldn't be directly attached to any existing tas communities (despite me being TASVideos Admin).

If your reaction to anything today is to go "I knew it, GDQ was always evil and hates queer people", lemme just say that like, 60% of staff, let alone attendees and volunteers, are queer. And also you need to shut up and touch grass.

I'm just going to say the unpopular thing: Cheering for somebody to get fired because a mistake was made (and summarily corrected) is ghoulish. Clearly there was an oversight and people don't have to demand blood for every error. Some of you should reevaluate your morals.

If you told me all this was to play a huge prank on SNK on their YouTube channel, I would actually say it was all worth it.

Oh wow, so the GDQ Metal Slug run wasn't just on their twitch channel, SNK was also streaming it on their Youtube channel, and the stream ends with the hosts saying "We've heard the concerns of everyone watching so we're canceling the runs" That being on the official SNK channel is wild.

We have canceled our sponsored stream with SNK. We have heard the concerns from our community regarding this partnership, specifically the company’s majority ownership by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, and the human rights concerns tied to the Saudi government.

Because there will be talk about it: I understand that GDQ mods can do nothing about the fact that they're doing an SNK partnered stream and their job, despite that, is to moderate (or leave.) But their staff put them in that situation, and it's still good that chat is being outspoken about it.

I encourage people to email [email protected] in regards to this. They are the people that should be confronted about this. I love GDQ, but damn this is disappointing. I hope this is an oversight.

There needs to be a good apology for this because working with a company owned by the Saudi Arabian government isn't it. I know there's a lot of good people in gdq staff, so I'm bewildered how this happened.
