i put linux on my old laptop a month ago as a test case. i've been using computers for decades but i don't know code or command line shit or anything. and while there were some initial hiccups in getting things set up right, i've found the "linux isn't user-friendly" line to be vastly overstated.

FOSS software has a mountain of issues and skill barriers, and troubleshooting can be a pain in the ass. but is that really so different from the frustrations we already have to deal with? at least with linux, the entire machine is open to you. and i think it's a privilege to learn how it works!
