Today’s gets. Local game store was doing a random free game giveaway today. I got a loose copy of NFS ProStreet on PS2, but I don’t like taking things for free and leaving, so I got a PS2 copy of 18 Wheeler while I was there. I wish it was the DC version, but it’s what they had.

The cover art for the original System Shock is one of my absolute favourites. Ever since I've first seen it, I've always found it deeply disturbing. It's the only cover art that I've ever had nightmares of. Especially for a 1994 CG render, it's perfection.

That 'best looking games ever' list made by a user here got me to buy Harold Halibut. I've never heard of that game until today, but it looks like pure art and an unforgettable experience even at a glance. Making clay characters, 3D scanning them and using motion capture for animation is genius.

I don't know if this is considered a hot take or not, but Silent Hill: Origins genuinely has one of my favourite interpretations of the town in the series, maybe even my 2nd favourite next to the original PS1 game. Climax did a great job with the look of the environments overall.
