I know that’s not a possibility for everyone. But in order to survive, we’re going to have to lean on each other. Friends are also going to have to figure things out with each other.

Growing up, we were always a multi generational house. My aunt also. We had other family in and out at at different points. Even our Texas family if they needed something for a bit.

Things are tight for married people and people living together. We also gotta get back to mutual aid. White people convinced a lot of us to be individualistic because it’s easier to break us.

I *wish* straight men could be a little “gayer” so they could freely explore more aspects to their pleasure, or desire, or attraction, or relationships, etc.

still thinking about that question around men getting called gay by women who they rejected. I think the larger conversation is about what compulsory heterosexuality does to us. even in queer relationships that heteronormativity still shows up. it keeps us all boxed in and entangled.

people say "i don't dream of labor" but... labor is neutral. labors of love. farming. cooking. parenting. all labor. truth is "you don't dream of slave labor under capitalism." SAY IT CLEARLY.

it was mostly the ones already posted in this thread but the ones that always struck me was “by the way”. it was a big no no to say with some of my elders in the church and ive only seen Maya Angelou explain it in her autobiography. “The Way” is Jesus and saying btw is somehow dismissing him

I always find it alarming that men will listen to him say this and not immediately tell him that he’s an idiot. and I think this happens pretty often amongst the menfolk. because why wouldn’t you respond to that with an immediate STFU

I’ll never forget we had a boy in my 4th grade class that was a Jehovah’s Witness so he didn’t stand for the pledge or say it. I stopped doing it too. Even with the irony of religious belief being the reason, i knew they were on to something.

If you’re going to say men listening to misogynistic podcasts and watching extreme porn is the exact same as women engaging with romantasy and true crime, I want you to cite sources on how many men kill women per year and how many women kill men per year in your both-sidesism.

Theory must be a way to clarify the stakes and to clarify the plans for action and to generate both daily tactics and a wider program! If our theory does not offer us the root causes and things we can do to intervene, it is useless! Our thinking must be a map to action as much as possible!
