But to lay it out even further: These are airport police. That’s what they are. I just saw folks on here like yesterday saying people aren’t pro-police, but being pro-TSA is indeed being pro-policing. If you were saying, “defund the police,” they were included in that group, and for good reason.

I have to say this bc folks tend to think all of your positions are radical if you identify as “communist” or “leftist.” They’ll say things like, “well, that’s not realistic.” But most of you on here are old enough to remember airports pre-9/11. TSA wouldn’t have prevented that, according to stats.

You might think this is a radical or insensible position, and that’s why I posted a Vox article for you to read to understand that they don’t prevent anything at all. Billions of $ per year for nothing. The government can create more jobs in areas that are actually efficient use of taxpayer money.

Obviously, I don’t want ICE in the airports either, but my real point is that we don’t even need these slow downs. The real solution actually isn’t to fund the TSA at all. Abolish that shit too. Yes, I understand people are used to it. But it’s security theater and a waste of your fucking time.
