This is AWESOME!! EventBridge now delivers events to cross-account targets directly without having to send them to the default bus in the target account first. More details here:

I just wanna triple down on saying: push to create environments in your work where people feel okay saying "I don't know" or "I'm not aware of [...]" So much time is wasted on egos and optics to know everything that could otherwise be used to identify gaps and next steps. Get out of that trap.

As someone smarter than me said, there are two takes on Elon Musk: one is that he's Henry Ford, and the other is that he's Henry Ford. It just depends on what you actually know about Henry Ford.

Yep. I think a lot about "pinch" the concept I first learned from mobile game design that by making something inconvenient, you can charge people to make that inconvenience go away. And once you learn to spot pinch in all aspects of society, you can't unsee it.

When people are nostalgic about Ye Olde Internette and wonder why we can't recapture that, this is why: the old internet was atomized **and that was good, actually**. But no one's gonna become a billionaire off of 3 million different self-hosted niche interest phpBB sites so here we are.

I don’t think it can be emphasized enough that large language models were never intended to do math or know facts; literally all they do is attempt to sound like the text they’re given, which may or may not include math or facts. They don’t do logic or fact checking — they’re just not built for that

Even after more than a decade of Uber, people don’t seem to get that the venture capitalists only subsidize the “disruptive” tech long enough to throw the displaced workers into permanent precarity, then they raise prices after destroying the overall market. Cab driver suicides are the strategy.

I realized I had never demoed the little feature I contributed to #Python 3.11, methods to help introspect string.Template. So I made a thing that interactively prompts you for values to interpolate across a JSON document:
