One puzzle we’re going to have to solve after Trump is how to rebuild trust in institutions. You can and should say “don’t listen to the CDC here”, but that’s also undermine trust in institutions, which is also part of their agenda. It’s a nasty little trap and I don’t know how to get out of it.

This is not a euphemism. I really like researching plants' native environments, putting together potting mixes based on that, and then physically moving plants to the new pot

the political policy cure for “male loneliness” is - more time to hang with the fellas (4 day work week) - more money to spend with the fellas (higher wages) - more things to do with the fellas (taxing the rich and building 3rd spaces)

Let's talk about how "ammonia" (NH₃) gets its name 🧪. Along the way, we'll talk about Alexander the Great, ancient Egyptian gods & a Roman misunderstanding. Let's start with these giant CASTLES made for PIGEONS in Siwa, Egypt, a tiny desert town built around an oasis, with 2 dry salt lakes nearby.

Alejandra is not overselling this. This executive order, if weaponized by a lawless administration like Trump, could lead to the dismantling of institutional/nonprofit opposition to Trump. It can also be used for surveillance and disruption ops similar to the civil rights era and red scare.

The most basic tenet of conservatism is that the past was better than the present & all change is bad. Which by definition pits parents against children. Which is how they see the world. They're the parents, & we're being bad & must be taught respect, no matter what. "How dare you question me?"
