Listening in to the live Artemis II feed. I love the way they talk about everything (jargon, acronyms, plaing English) . Like a bit ago, an astronaut was talking emotionally about how beautiful the views were of the approaching moon, and Houston's CapCom person responded plainly “Copy. Moon joy.”

This is brilliant. A snapshot of a moment when all this tech was just starting to get mainstream momentum. While most of it existed long before this photo was taken, a webcam, modem, PDA and mobile phone wouldn't have had these nice consumer-friendly form factors just 5 years earlier.

The toilet on Artemis has now been powered up, which means they can go where no one has gone before.

There are now 10 toilets in Space International Space Station: 4 Crew Dragon Docked at ISS: 1 Soyuz Docked at ISS: 1 Tiangong Space Station: 2 Shenzhou Docked at TSS: 1 Artemis II on way around Moon: 1 This will be the first time a toilet has left low earth orbit!

Artemis II will also perform large numbers of science experiments en route to the moon. Among other things, scientists hope to conclusively prove one way or the other whether the moon is haunted
