There’s something immensely satisfying about shaking a bunch of oblong dice, d8s and d10s mostly. They feel good in my hand. I’m never satisfied with how they roll once they hit the table though, need something more rounded for that, like a d12. Ideal scenario I’ve got both types at the same time!

DnD 3.5e had a spell called Dance with Devils if I remember correctly, that did 2d20 damage. High variance! Or in 5e, anything Barbarian with a d12 lol.

Ideally a mismatched handful of different shapes and colors. Runner-up is a giant pile of d10s. I'm generally up for anything other than d6s. Lots of good games use them, but they all feel a little bit like playing Monopoly.
