When I try to find news images from atrocities in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s in the Internet that would actually show victims, dead and badly wounded, that I know existed because I saw and shared them, they usually can't be found. They have been erased. Atrocities have been sanitized.

Similarly, the dozens of photos from Abu Ghraib prison are down to just several lower grade images, often cropped. There were multiple images confirming IDF uniforms present in Abu Ghraib during scenes of abuse. These are now almost impossible to find.
