Good piece, and if you're thinking "surely not Wogan?" then you'll be surprised. I'd bought the Steely & Clevie album when everybody else was pretending to like Kingmaker so wasn't surprised when this eventually became a hit. Couldn't get away from it in early '90s Brixton/Streatham.

My Wogan story - It was my first day of work at BBC Broadcasting House, I was 19 & quite nervous. I passed Wogan on the stairs & he gave me a cherry "Morning" Later that week he stopped me & asked how I was getting on, which was lovely of him because he didn't know me at all. A class act.

I’ve never looked inside the church on Soho Sq. My dad sometimes went to Sunday service here if we were in the neighbourhood back in the 80s. He only missed a 2 or 3 Sunday services in his life. One week he’d missed all the other services so sat through the Korean one despite the language barrier

I mean I'd rather he hadn't died, but glad that this fella was on hand to play some of his best gear (and I too have the white vinyl Chisel News version of Dillinger)
